U3 Director Planning for Educational Practice

Course ID  69892
Caddo Kiowa Technology Center

(405) 643-3248

Description

The director of an early care center is responsible for the educational practice in the center. Appropriate educational practice does not just happen, it takes planning. Educational practice must correspond with the philosophy of the program, the goals of the program, and take into account developmentally appropriate practices and activities. The philosophy of the program is the basic beliefs and ideas that the program has about early care and what benefits it should give the child. The director must be able to envision the type of program he or she wants and make that vision a reality. The vision is a long-term view that states the “ideal” for the program.
