Description

Establishes Developmentally Appropriate Practice for Behavior & Guidance. Provides an understanding of direct and indirect guidance in a childcare environment. Introduces the seventeen major positive discipline strategies that empower the teacher to manage their classroom environment. These strategies are best for the individual child as well as the overall group. An understanding of Oklahoma state licensing regulations for behavior and guidance will be content of this course. Goals and Objectives

1. The purpose of this course is to empower the caregiver with behavior and guidance discipline strategies for the infant and toddler.
2. Provide knowledge of Oklahoma state child care licensing regulations concerning behavior and guidance.
3. Provide a self evaluation for the caregiver to assess their classroom management skills.
4. Provide resources for enhancing behavior and guidance classroom tools.
5. Introduce Infant and Toddler Environment Rating Scales with the focus on behavior and guidance.
