Description

Establishes Developmentally Appropriate Practice for Behavior & Guidance. Provides an understanding of direct and indirect guidance in a child care environment. Introduces the seventeen major positive discipline strategies that empower the teacher to manage their classroom environment. These strategies are best for the individual child as well as the overall group. An understanding of Oklahoma state licensing regulations for behavior and guidance will be content of this course. Goals and Objectives

1. The purpose of this course is to empower the caregiver with behavior and guidance discipline strategies for the early childhood classroom. School Age strategies will be included.
2. Provide knowledge of Oklahoma state child care licensing regulations concerning behavior and guidance.
3. Provide a self evaluation fo the caregiver to assess their classroom management skills.
4. Provide resources for enhancing behavior and guidance classroom tools.
5. Introduce Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scales and School Age Environmental Rating Scales.
