Description

ELCCT is an introduction to child care training. This course provides new and or future childcare professionals with the knowledge needed to provide quality care for young children while helping each individual child develop to his or her full potential. The course contains information and learning activities that stress the importance of the caregiver and of child care work.

NOTE: ELCCT cannot be used to meet level or renewal criteria for the Oklahoma Director's Credential (ODC). It will only count one time to meet Professional Development Ladder (PDL) requirements.

5. Know how to maintain appropriate job relationships and how those relationships affect an individual's career development.
6. Understand the goals of guidance for young children
7. Gain knowledge of "best practice" for young children.
8. Provide appropriate care for the special needs child
9.Promote good health and nutrition
10. Recognize the signs of abuse and neglect ; gain knowledge of reporting procedures, and confidentiality issues.
11. Conduct safety drills( fire, tornado, and evacuation)
