Description

Safety is a major issue in all early education centers and homes. Providing for Children's Safety is a 10 hour course designed to assist child care providers with the safety concepts and issues they face everyday. Included will be information on written policies and responsibilities for carrying them out.

Goals and Objectives

1.Answer multiple-choice questions about integrating safety in program plans.
2.Research state requirements for CPR and First Aid Training.
3.Provide a current certificate of completion of a certified pediatric First Aid training course.
4.Answer multiple choice questions regarding elements of an emergency plan, staff responsibilities for implementing emergency plans, resources for crisis management, and criteria for effective emergency procedures.
5. Answer questions about the need for professionalism in responding to families' concerns about safety situations.
6.Distinguish among staff responsibilities in injury situations.
7.Reflect on safety services available form Oklahoma Warm Line.
8.Respond to scenarios involving professionalism in responding to emergency situations (including responding appropriately to families' concerns).
9.Identify effective designs of indoor and outdoor areas for maintaining safety.
10.Evaluate an indoor and outdoor area against safety criteria utilizing a safety checklist.
